Who I Am

Shilla Mehrafshani,
Visual Designer / Art Director

NewCropFor more than two decades, I’ve been working independently and in-house, designing for companies whose missions are as disparate as Chevron is from SFJazz.

My experiences have created counter influences in my work. In corporate settings, I’m able to expand the scope and possibility of effective communications by applying edgier yet on-point strategies. In the arts community, I bring the streamlined processes and data-driven approaches of corporate methodology to organizations that thrive on creativity, but might need more structure. This blending of approaches offers a solid foundation for all of my projects, resulting in appealing, effective and cost efficient communications, regardless of audience.

I’m an art director and visual designer, with a BFA in graphic design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and a minor in photography.

My work has been published and recognized in design annuals: Print Magazine, AIGA 365, Communication Arts Magazine, Art Director’s Club Annual and others.
